The Department of Crop Science is one of the five Departments in the School of Agriculture of the University of Cape Coast. The Department has highly trained and experienced faculty in Agronomy, Crop Biotechnology, Crop Physiology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Plant Protection and Seed Science. The Department runs a Bachelor of Science Programme in Horticulture (BSc. Horticulture). It also contributes to teaching over 60 undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Agriculture (BSc Agriculture) programme and other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the School of Agriculture. The Department of Crop Science offers graduate programmes in MSc, MPhil and PhD with options in Agronomy, Crop Physiology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Health, and Seed Science and Technology. The Department prides itself on being instrumental in developing Ghana’s crop production and horticulture industry and beyond. We welcome all our stakeholders, including prospective students, current students, alums, staff, sister Crop Science Departments and the general public, as partners in developing our country’s agriculture.
