A PhD Student under the FruitBunch (https://projects.au.dk/fruitbunch) project explains his work in the Department’s Greenhouse to visiting collaborators. The FruitBunch project seeks to help vegetable farmers adapt to climate change and enhance vegetable production through research on heat, drought, disease-tolerant vegetable varieties, soil health, irrigation, and water management in vegetable production systems in Ghana.

Tomatoes produced in a greenhouse under the Piloting Edible Urban Landscapes Project. The project demonstrated the possibility of successfully producing premium quality tomatoes (and, for that matter, other vegetables or crops) in urban spaces which are hitherto idle, unmanaged and unkempt, detracting from urban beauty and posing environmental, health and social hazards to nearby residents.
